IMPORTANT 50+ ACTIVITY CENTRE UPDATE: IMPACT of COVID-19
04/11/2020
A Message from President Sue Hunter:
Further to the last email sent to you in March, the initial 4 week suspension of activities is set to expire on Monday, April 13th.
As the COVID-19 situation continues to evolve, effective today, April 11th, 2020, all Brockville 50+ Activity Centre activities will be cancelled for the remainder of this semester. (Through May 31st, 2020)
In coming to this difficult decision, we paid particular attention to the Province’s prohibition on gatherings of more than 5 people, and the strong appeal for everyone to stay home during this critical time.
We are also heeding the words spoken by our Prime Minister who told us, in no uncertain terms, to “stay home.”
In this rapidly changing environment, we believe this is the best decision for all Brockville 50+ Activity Centre members.
We wish everyone good health, and we look forward to the day that we can get back to getting out and doing the things we love to do.
Thank you to everyone for doing your part in helping to flatten the curve of this terrible virus.
There will be further communication in August regarding the fall semester. You will receive an email as well as the website, fiftyplusbrockville.ca will be updated at that time.
Thank you for your continued support and understanding.
Sue Hunter
President, Board of Directors
Brockville 50+ Activity Centre
