Leaders
As Brockville 50+ continues to grow in size our demand is increasing for leaders to run more activities, especially popular ones. If you have experience/skills that you would like to share, we would love to hear from you! Whether you have spent your years teaching dance or phys-ed, or have dallied in the creative arts or writing, we would be interested in connecting with you.

Board MembersEach year we are seeking 4 to 6 new board members to govern and guide the organization and to manage the implementation of its programs. Please indicate on the form comments field if you are interested in joining the board.Interested

Board CommitteesThe purpose of the 50+ Board Committees is to increase participation and reduce the workload of the Board. Brockville 50+ formed committees to focus on specific functions. Each Committee is chaired by a Board member and includes Brockville 50+ members with specific skills and expertise. We boast an impressive group of skilled volunteers who manage, plan, and implement programming based totally on volunteers, supported by seven committees.

Activities CommitteeChaired by The Activities Director who is a Board Member, the committee is responsible for finding leaders, equipment and venues for activities and developing the activity schedule for each Semester. They orient, inform and communicate with Leaders and Activity Assistants to ensure the Semester runs smoothly. They are assisted by the Equipment Manager and the Venue Scout.Interested

Communications CommitteeCommunications is responsible for Brockville 50+ communicating with members/participants and to the general public via the website, newsletter and electronic bulk mailing. The Committee consists of the Chair, a newsletter editor, a webmaster, a website monitor and reporters. The Communications Committee also administers the Brockville 50+ Google Workspace which is becoming the main internal communication mechanism.Interested

Finance CommitteeFinance is responsible for providing the Board of Directors with information and recommendations about long range financial planning for the organization including investing funds, large expenditures and fundraising.Interested

Membership Services CommitteeMembership Services is responsible for the registration of participants, the administration of the Office and the recruitment and maintenance of volunteers. The Committee includes the Chair, Office Manager, Photocopy Coordinator, Volunteer Coordinator, Office Assistant and Technical Support person for the database and registration system. This Committee liaises closely with the Treasurer to ensure membership income is tracked and recorded.Interested

Nominations CommitteeNominations consist of two Board members and one non board member. This Committee provides the membership with information about upcoming elections and, jointly with the Volunteer Coordinator, actively recruits nominees for election to the Board of Directors. When the nominations committee identifies someone who wishes to participate but not as a Board member, they refer them to the Volunteer Coordinator.Interested

Strategic Planning CommitteeStrategic Planning leads the Board in developing its Strategic Plan and is responsible for assisting the board to both monitor progress toward the Strategic Plan and update the plan when required. The SPC provides support to other Committees to report on progress and develop new goals and plans.Interested

Wellness and Events CommitteeWellness and Events monitors and improves the well-being of members and organizes and provides the logistical support to hold events. They schedule First Aid CPR training for leaders and activity assistants, as well as organize other wellness initiatives. In addition, they organize and implement a variety of events like the annual showcase and AGM and the fall Welcome Back gathering. They also provide their contacts and expertise to support other committees who are holding events.Interested
